The Royal Kendama – It’s One Sick Click

Careful Construction

When it comes to Kendama design the team at Royal Kendama have no time for half measures. The tiniest tweaks in shape and balance all help when it comes to getting the right feel for a trick. It took years of trials and tricking to finally get the Ken that can!

Beautiful Beech

We needed a durable hardwood that was uncompromising and gave the best grain possible. Quality beech was the only choice. Guaranteed free of knots and flaws, our beech is tough and will look better as it matures.

Glorious Gloss

Six lustrous colours adorn our tamas. The key to the Royal paint is longevity and texture. Our paint stays fresh for longer – slick at first until it reaches clicking maturity. Then you can enjoy the grippy texture of a veteran tama, ripe for a Moon Landing.

Plush Packaging

If you’ve made something beautiful, you best make a smart box to put it in. The Royal Kendama is housed in a windowed presentation box that just zings on shop shelves. Each model comes with instructions and a spare string, bead & threading tool.

Real Research

It took a team of pro-players, some talented craftsmen and a whole lot of playing to get the Royal where we needed it to be. We took elements from our favourite kendamas and look backed to the roots of Kendama to make a model that rewards and challenges.

Clicking Community

The team behind Royal have been part of the global skill toy scene for over 3 decades. Using our hands, making friends and always nurturing the most important people – the players! The Royal Kendama team is driven in cultivating a scene where we encourage each other to learn and grow.

The Original Royal Kendama in Action!

Introducing the Royal Plush

In the Summer of 2017, after deep testing, the Royal Kendama team developed an improved paint formula that became the cornerstone of the PLUSH performance model.  Staying true to the original Royal design but featuring a coating that gives higher-level players that extra edge they need for the craziest of technical tricks. The Royal Plush Tama features a 65/35 colour split. Available in five striking two-tones, plus the deliciously transparent “Honey” colour, for those who just love to show off their grain. The Plush is lush. We know you’re going to love it.

Now comes the SuperNatural!

Royal SuperNatural
The SuperNatural project was developed by the competition winning Royal Kendama as a raw session model.

Built from a tough, strong Ash Wood, the SuperNatural is designed for ken-contact and dynamic, aerial play. The Tama includes an exotic Zebrano wood stripe to help players gauge their hold location.

Designed with competition specifications in mind and paying tribute to the legions of new players developing their Kendama game in ways never before thought possible. Exceptionally beautiful grain and on-point handling.
